Education for both undergraduate and graduate students
is a core mission of the European Studies Alliance. Through its
four constituent centers, the ESA provides students with a regular
offering of courses,
funding opportunities and weekly
information on upcoming talks, workshops, study-abroad opportunities,
cultural events, and distinguished European visitors.
For undergraduates, there are many ways to become involved
in the European Studies community, including:
For Graduate Students, there are many ways to profit from
the highly robust European Studies scholarly community at UW-Madison,
including:
- Applying for a European Union Center of Excellence Graduate Fellowship
- Applying for a Center for European Studies 'FLAS Fellowship'
- Applying for a Center for German and European Studies Graduate
Fellowship
- Earning a European
Studies Certificate or Ph.D. Minor
- Attending one of a myriad of graduate seminars supported by
the Centers, on such topics as "Contemporary Germany and
the Transatlantic Culture of Memory," "Industrial Ecology,
Culture and Environmental Sustainability," "Employment
and the Welfare State in an Integrating Europe," and "Governance,
Law and Democracy in the EU and the US".
